2017 Vendor Applications

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Esquimalt Farmers Market 2017 season!

From January to April there are monthly indoor pop-up markets inside Esquimalt Rec Centre, and from May to September there will be weekly outdoor markets at Memorial Park, our NEW LOCATION! See all market dates and times here.

Please apply with the correct application below for your product, ASAP. If you wish to be a vendor at the January Market, you must apply before the end of December 2016. In advance of applying, please ensure you read our Policies and Procedures here.

Farmer fees: Farmers, please note the INDOOR Pop Up Market fees will be $20/market. Due to the recent decision that EFM will join BCAFM (following a request to consider membership at our AGM in November 2016*) and that applications are already arriving, EFM is giving Farmers the choice in 2017 to pay $20/Market or the refundable $150 deposit for the OUTDOOR markets.

* BCAFM membership was suggested and welcomed by the majority of members at the meeting, and also that (given there was a deposit but no fees for farmers in seasons 1 & 2) EFM charge a stall fee to farmers to encourage financial sustainability, and use these funds to access the opportunities, advantages and knowledge that are accessible as a BCAFM member.

Note about VIHA guidelines from Eddie Fung at VIHA regarding meat, cheese & eggs…please read and understand the guidelines will be complied with by EFM:
-We have always required mechanical freezers or fridges for frozen meats or cheeses. In the past, especially on a hot summer days, coolers that are constantly being opened and closed are unable to maintain proper protective temperatures. Lower risk products such as eggs can be stored in coolers.
-If the market is indoors I can make the exemption for using coolers since the market only goes on for 3 hours. In May when the market moves outdoors then we would require mechanical refrigeration/freezers.

Body care products are regulated by Health Canada. Below are some links to further info and their contact information. Small scale farmers market sales may be exempt but it is best to check with them.
